Print out your bookmark on white paper. A heavy paper, like 24 lb. bond is best, but regular 20 lb. bond will work, too (just make sure the ink is very dry before you continue). 3. Once the ink is dry, cut out your bookmark along the black edges. 4. After you cut out your bookmark, fold it in half. The white side should be inside and the colored parts should be outside. 5. Then, take a piece of self-lamination paper. (Self-lamination means the clear plastic sticks together without a heating machine.) You can buy this by the sheet and it is very cheap and easy to use. (Use a thin lamination page. That way, you won’t have sharp corners on your bookmark. The corners will easily bend if you touch them.) 6. Using a scissors, cut one lamination page in half, length-wise, so that you have two long, narrow strips. 7. Peel off the backing of one of the cut lamination sheets and lay it on the table so the sticky side is facing up. Then, carefully lay your bookmark on the sticky side. It doesn’t matter which side of the bookmark you put touching the sticky side. 8. Then, peel off the backing of the other half of the lamination sheet and lay the sticky side on top of the bookmark with the sticky side down. 9. Smooth the lamination sheets over the bookmark to get rid of air bubbles. 10. Cut around the edge of the bookmark, leaving at least a quarter of an inch of the lamination sheet on all four sides – because, you know, it’s those laminated sides that hold the bookmark together! 11. Now you can use your bookmark and it will last for a very long time. Enjoy! |
